KKI is celebrating over 18 years of CO2 subsea injection duty this year.
Background
KKI originally supplied a 6” API 5000 rated subsea choke valve back in 2003 for installation on a major Norwegian Continental shelf field development. The valve featured Super Duplex hipped body/bonnet construction to give excellent corrosion resistance and high integrity associated with the Hipped process to Temperature class ‘L’ to ‘U’ (-46 to 121Deg Centigrade.
The choke features a bi-directional trim in full Tungsten Carbide to allow flow in both directions should it have been required and was fitted with our hydraulic stepping actuator. At the time it was supplied as part of a subsea production and CO2 storage package of 22 subsea valves which also featured 2” Subsea MEG injection chokes to API 6600 with Hipped Duplex body design and our ‘Microspline’ low flow trim.
